Week 30 (April 13 -17)
This is Gloria Painter, the Assistant Principal at Iotla Valley Elementary. I am calling with some important information for this week.
On Monday and Tuesday, our Choir Club will meet at the end of the school day.
Our Academic Night is this Tuesday from 6 -7. This will give families a chance to come in and participate in different activities offered by each of our grade levels.
This Saturday, our PTO will host a Yard/Craft Sale at IVE. Please see our
Website or Facebook page for more information.
It’s time to complete your Online Registration (OLR) for the 2026–2027 school year!
If you already have a Campus Portal account, simply log in through the app, go to your student’s profile, scroll down to “Online Registration,” and click “Review” to update or register your student. You can also add incoming Kindergarten students during this process.
⭐ Important Reminder: This registration is REQUIRED for all students. It is also the way you will find out your child’s teacher for next year over the summer, as we will no longer be posting class lists at the school.
Please take a few minutes to complete this as soon as possible to ensure a smooth start to the new school year!
If you need assistance, check out the flyer on our website or Facebook page. Don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help! 💙
We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

Bus 30 is lot running this afternoon. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Our students have had such an exciting time learning this year that we need more pencils. If you would like to donate pencils for our students, we would greatly appreciate it. If you know of a business or own one that would like to donate pencils, we would gladly accept them. Please drop them off at the front office at your convenience.

Week 29 (April 6 -10)
This is Gloria Painter, the Assistant Principal at Iotla Valley Elementary. I am calling with some important information for this week.
On Monday and Tuesday, our Choir Club will meet at the end of the school day.
Online yearbook ordering will close today. If you plan to purchase and pay with cash/check, the last day is tomorrow, before 2:45 pm. Extra books will not be available for purchase at the end of the school year. If you are ordering online from Lifetouch, the code is 15138026.
Our 3rd- and 4th-graders will take their last NC Check-Ins this week to prepare for the End-of-Grade Test. The reading test will take place on Tuesday, and the math test will take place on Thursday.
On April 14th, from 6 - 7, we will host our Academic Night. This will give families a chance to come in and participate in different activities offered by each of our grade levels.
On April 18th, our PTO will host a Yard/Craft Sale at IVE. Please see our social media post for details.
As we work to ensure an efficient and secure dismissal process, we ask for your cooperation with afternoon pick-up procedures. If you are picking up your student at the end of the day, please make arrangements to arrive no later than 2:15 PM. The end of the school day is an especially busy time, and late pick-ups can create disruptions and delays for both students and staff. We understand that unexpected situations may arise; however, consistent adherence to this expectation is important in maintaining a safe and organized dismissal for all students. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

🎶✨ Big news! ✨🎶
Congratulations to our incredible music teacher, Ms. Parham, for advancing to the second round of America’s Favorite Teacher contest! 🎉👏 Continue voting by following the link below.
Ms. Parham became a teacher to create a safe, welcoming space where every student feels seen, valued, and confident—just like music once did for her. In her classroom, music is more than notes and rhythms… it’s a place of belonging. 💙
One of her most powerful moments? Watching a student step out of his comfort zone, earn a lead role in musical theater, grow in confidence, and ultimately succeed both on stage and in the classroom. That transformation is what teaching is all about. 🌟
If she wins the $25,000 prize, Ms. Parham plans to upgrade sound equipment for professional-level performances and further her own training to bring even more engaging, high-quality learning experiences to her students. 🎤🎼
Let’s show our support and cheer her on as she continues this amazing journey! 🙌

Our Iotla Valley Elementary 4th graders had an unforgettable day exploring the wonders of the North Carolina Zoo! 🐘🦒
Students had the opportunity to connect their classroom learning to real-world experiences while discovering wildlife from around the globe. A big thank you to our amazing staff who chaperoned and helped make the trip safe, fun, and meaningful for everyone! ❤️
We are especially grateful to Ms. McConnell for applying for the DNCR’s Learning Happens Here Field Trip Fun grant—because of this opportunity, every student was able to attend at no cost! 👏
