We have another busy and exciting week ahead at Iotla Valley Elementary! ❤️💙 Here’s what our Wolfpack families need to know:

☕ MONDAY MORNING | Coffee in the Car Line!
Morning drop-off will look a little different! Our PTO will be selling iced coffee for $5 in the car line. Choose from black, cinnamon, caramel, or vanilla, along with your choice of half-and-half, almond milk, or no addition. Cash and Venmo are accepted.

✨💕 FRIDAY | DOLLY DAY! 💕✨
We’re celebrating Dolly Parton and the wonderful example she has set through hard work, positivity, kindness, and her incredible support of childhood literacy!

📖 At 9:25 AM, the entire school will DROP EVERYTHING AND READ in recognition of Dolly’s commitment to getting books into the hands of children.

Students are also welcome to have some fun and dress in their best Dolly-inspired fashion! 🤠✨ Be sure to check out our Dolly Day flyer for all the details.

🎡 FRIDAY | MACON COUNTY FAIR
Our 1st-grade and 3rd-grade students, along with Mr. Jeremy’s and Ms. Cayce’s classes, will visit the Macon County Fair. We’re looking forward to a fun day of learning and experiencing this special part of our community!

📊 3RD GRADE DATA DAY
Our Third Grade Data Day will begin in the library on Friday with a parent meeting at 12:30 PM. We look forward to partnering with our families to talk about student learning and growth.

We wanted to inform our families that the water to IVE will be shut off tomorrow at 2:00. The purpose is due to a leak that must be fixed and our tank needs time to refill over the weekend.

Here’s what’s happening this week:

🎶 TUESDAY | Singers of the Pack

✏️ THURSDAY | 3rd Grade Beginning-of-Grade State Test
Thursday is an important day for our 3rd-grade students as they take their Beginning-of-Grade State Test. For many students and families, this is their first experience with a state assessment like this.

3rd-grade families, you can help your child be ready by:
• Making sure they get a good night's sleep Wednesday night
• Arriving at school on time Thursday morning
• Keeping the morning routine as calm and positive as possible
• Reminding them to take their time, read carefully, and use the strategies they have learned
• Most importantly—encourage them and let them know you believe in them! 💙

🙏 THURSDAY | Good News
Good News will meet after school from 3:00–4:30 PM. Please return signed permission forms as soon as possible if your child plans to participate.

Mr. Jeremy's class studied the letter B this week. On Friday they baked brownies to celebrate their hard work learning the letter B. They delivered some to the office staff. We were so excited to have a visit from Mr. Jeremy's class!

Good evening, Iolta Valley families, We wanted to provide you with a quick update regarding Bus 23. We are pleased to let you know that we have a new driver, and Bus 23 will resume service starting tomorrow morning. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Good morning, IVE Families!

Our first Iotla Valley PTO fundraiser of the year kicks off tomorrow! We are partnering with American Fundraising Group, and the fundraiser will run through Friday, September 11.

Students will learn about the fundraiser at school tomorrow, and fundraiser information will come home in their folders. I am also sharing the fundraiser video with families so you can learn more about how everything works.

Getting Started

We encourage all families who would like to participate to register their student online using our school code:

Once registered, families can share their student's fundraiser information with friends and family.

🦎 Axolotl Keychain Prizes

Part of the fun of this fundraiser is the opportunity for students to earn collectible axolotl keychains!

Students will receive information about how to earn the keychains and coupons to return to school. If your child earns a keychain, please send the appropriate completed coupon back to school with them.

We will collect coupons each morning and distribute prizes through our PTO and front office.

🦎 Plushie Drawings

Those coupons have another purpose, too! After students receive credit for their keychain, their coupons will go into our drawing for one of 10 large plushies!

Coupons will remain in the drawing throughout the fundraiser, giving students continued opportunities to win. Once a student wins a plush, we will remove their name from future drawings so we can spread the fun around to as many students as possible.

🎉 Field Day Fun for EVERYONE!

You may hear students talking about the Mega Party shown in the fundraiser video. At IVE, we have decided to do things a little differently.

ALL IVE students will have the opportunity to enjoy the inflatables during Field Day! ❤️

We want fundraising to be fun and exciting, but we also recognize that every family's circumstances are different. While we certainly appreciate every family who is able to participate in our fundraiser, we want all of our students to be included in this special end-of-year experience.

Fundraisers like this help our PTO provide additional opportunities and support for our students, teachers, and school. Participation is voluntary, and we appreciate every family who chooses to support Iotla Valley through purchasing, selling, sharing the fundraiser, or simply cheering on our students!

🚗 IVE Car Rider Families — Thank You for Your Patience! 💜

We know our car rider line is longer this year, and several families have mentioned that it has never been this long before. You are right! We are seeing significantly more students in our car rider line this year, and we want to explain why.

Two changes have increased the number of cars coming through our line each afternoon:

We do not have an after-school program at Iotla Valley this year.
Bus 23 is not running until further notice.

Both changes mean that more of our students are being picked up by car each afternoon. More car riders naturally means a longer line and a little more time needed to get everyone safely on their way home.

🎥 Please take a few minutes to watch the attached video. We created it to provide a visual of our car rider procedures and help everyone understand how to move through the line safely and efficiently.

As you come through the line, please follow the established traffic pattern, staff directions, and pull forward as directed. Our goal is not simply to move cars quickly—it is to make sure every child gets into the correct vehicle safely. Please do not bypass the line or create an alternate pick-up arrangement, as this can interfere with the procedures we have in place to account for and safely dismiss our students.

We completely understand that waiting in a long line at the end of the day can be frustrating. We see the line, too, and our staff is working hard each afternoon to keep it moving as efficiently as possible. We simply ask for your patience, grace, and cooperation as we adjust to having more car riders this year.

Every car in that line represents one of our students, and their safety will always be more important than speed. 💜

🚗 Familias de IVE que recogen a sus estudiantes en automóvil: ¡Gracias por su paciencia! 💜

Sabemos que la fila para recoger a los estudiantes en automóvil es más larga este año, y varias familias nos han comentado que nunca había sido tan larga. ¡Tienen razón! Este año tenemos muchos más estudiantes que son recogidos en automóvil, y queremos explicarles por qué.

Hay dos cambios que han aumentado la cantidad de vehículos en nuestra fila cada tarde:

Este año no tenemos un programa después de clases (After-School) en Iotla Valley.
El autobús 23 no estará en servicio hasta nuevo aviso.

Estos dos cambios significan que más estudiantes están siendo recogidos en automóvil cada tarde. Más estudiantes en la fila naturalmente significa una fila más larga y un poco más de tiempo para que todos puedan salir de la escuela de manera segura.

🎥 Por favor, tómense unos minutos para ver el video adjunto. Lo creamos para mostrar visualmente nuestros procedimientos para recoger a los estudiantes y ayudar a todos a comprender cómo avanzar por la fila de manera segura y eficiente.
