Week 12 (November 10 - 14)
This is Gloria Painter, the Assistant Principal at Iotla Valley Elementary. I am calling with some important information for this week.
A reminder that there is no school on Monday or Tuesday of this week.
Bus 104 will pick students up 15 minutes later in the mornings starting Wednesday, November 12th.
Bus 156 will not run in the afternoon on Friday, the 14th.
Our lost and found has grown exponentially with the onset of cooler weather. Please consider popping in through the drop-off doors in the morning to see if your student has left an article of clothing.

Our Veterans’ Day program will take place this Wednesday at 1:30 in the Gym.

Attendance Matters: Did you know that only 17% of students who miss 18 or more days of school in Kindergarten or 1st Grade can read on grade level by the time they reach 3rd Grade?

Our parents were able to come in on Friday to learn about all the progress their students have made over the last 9 weeks. Students had a blast during scooter town in PE. Our PE teachers created a fun atmosphere to celebrate Halloween.

Our school store fundraiser begins this week. Expect to see information sent home on Monday. There are no purchase requirements for this fundraiser, only a sign-up.
Our picture re-takes will take place on Tuesday.
This Friday is our first Data Day for this school year. We look forward to you visiting your student’s classroom to see the progress they have made this school year.
Students may wear their Halloween costumes this Friday. Please ensure they are appropriate for school. Masks are not allowed, and toys related to violence will not be tolerated.
Our Veterans Day program will be held on November 5th at 1:30 in the gymnasium.
Attendance Information: We can’t afford to view absenteeism merely as a lack of compliance with school rules. Absences represent lost opportunities to learn in the classroom.

This Friday is hat day! Students are welcome to wear a hat for just $1.00. The money raised goes towards our Field Day at the end of the school year.
Our Pawsative Leaders will be selling Halloween Candy Grams for $1. They will be sold on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday morning. Friday afternoon, our Pawsative Leaders will deliver them to classrooms.
Picture retakes will take place on October 28th.
Teachers have started sending home invitations to Data Day. Our Data Day gives your student the chance to show you how much they've grown over the past 9 weeks. Our Data Day is on October 31st.
Attendance Matters: Regular school attendance boosts children's confidence and positive attitude towards school. Encourage this habit early in elementary school to teach them that punctual and consistent attendance is crucial. Developing good attendance skills early on can set a foundation for success throughout middle school, high school, college, and their future careers.

Our attendance winners are going strong as we finish up our 8th week of school. Every Friday students who have attended school each day for the week are entered into a drawing. One winner is picked from each grade level.





Trunk or Treat 2025 - We loved seeing all of our families for this fun filled evening.










Our students tasted foods inspired by Italy yesterday for lunch. We are blessed to have a dedicated staff serving our students in the cafeteria every day!
