On Monday and Tuesday, our Choir Club will meet at the end of the school day.
This Wednesday, our 1st and 2nd-grade families are invited to our Easter/Spring lunch. Please reach out to your student's teacher or cafeteria manager for more information.
This Friday is Hat Day. Students can wear their hats for $1. These funds will support our end-of-school-year field day.
Our PTO is hosting a Yard Sale/Craft Show on Saturday, April 18th. Please see our social media post and website for more information.

Our Iotla Valley Elementary 4th graders had an unforgettable day exploring the wonders of the North Carolina Zoo! 🐘🦒
Students had the opportunity to connect their classroom learning to real-world experiences while discovering wildlife from around the globe. A big thank you to our amazing staff who chaperoned and helped make the trip safe, fun, and meaningful for everyone! ❤️
We are especially grateful to Ms. McConnell for applying for the DNCR’s Learning Happens Here Field Trip Fun grant—because of this opportunity, every student was able to attend at no cost! 👏

Tomorrow is Spring Pictures.
This Friday our PTO will host the IVE Egg Hunt. One at 6:00 and the other at 8:00. It is $5 per child. Our PTO is also asking for candy donations. These need to be turned in by Thursday. Please see the attached flyer on our social media and website for more information.

The Musical Theater Club will practice on Monday after school until 5:00 pm and stay after school on Tuesday for the production of Seussical.
Our Musical Theater Club will hold its Spring Production, The Seussical, on Tuesday evening at 6:00 PM and Wednesday morning at 9:00 am. The cost for adults is $5.00, and children are free.
Students can join us in celebrating the joy of reading for Read Across America Week by dressing up. Monday is Reading is Royal - dress up in your fanciest clothes or a crown. Tuesday is Reading is Magic - wizards are the wisest in the kingdom because they are always reading, wear your wackiest or wizarding duds. Wednesday is Dr. Seuss Day - dress as your favorite Dr. Seuss character. Thursday is Brave Knights - Show your kingdom pride by wearing your IVE shirt and/or hat. This week is also National School Breakfast Week, with the theme "The Quest for School Breakfast", which is designed to encourage students to fuel up with healthy morning meals. Our nutrition program highlights the importance of nutritious school breakfasts in improving student academic performance and concentration.
Our Spring Book Fair is this week. Your students' classroom teachers have signed up for a time for the class to visit. The book fair will be open to parents after the Seussical on Tuesday night.
This Friday is a teacher workday, and next week is Spring Break.

This week in PE, students learned the game of four square. Our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders wrapped up the unit by participating in an exciting two-day Four Square Tournament. Students put the skills they’ve been practicing all week to the test as they competed for the championship. We are so proud of their sportsmanship and competitive spirit!
Bus 33 will NOT run this afternoon. Please make arrangements for your students to be picked up during car rider time, 3:00 pm.
Wow - our Book Blast is off to a great start! Congratulations to Brylee Henry for winning our first drawing prize: the Book Blast Treasure Chest! Our quest to level up our readers has never been so much fun! We’re blasting through our mission to earn as many books as possible for our students.
