Halloween Candy Grams
Week 9 (October 20 - 24)
This is Goria Painter, the Assistant Principal at Iotla Valley Elementary. I am calling with some important information for this week.
On Monday and Tuesday, our Choir Club will meet at the end of the school day.
This Friday is hat day! Students are welcome to wear a hat for just $1.00. The money raised goes towards our Field Day at the end of the school year.
Our Pawsative Leaders will be selling Halloween Candy Grams for $1. They will be sold on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday morning. Friday afternoon, our Pawsative Leaders will deliver them to classrooms.
Picture retakes will take place on October 28th.
Teachers have started sending home invitations to Data Day. Our Data Day gives your student the chance to show you how much they've grown over the past 9 weeks. Our Data Day is on October 31st.
Attendance Matters: Regular school attendance boosts children's confidence and positive attitude towards school. Encourage this habit early in elementary school to teach them that punctual and consistent attendance is crucial. Developing good attendance skills early on can set a foundation for success throughout middle school, high school, college, and their future careers.

Our attendance winners are going strong as we finish up our 8th week of school. Every Friday students who have attended school each day for the week are entered into a drawing. One winner is picked from each grade level.
Trunk or Treat 2025 - We loved seeing all of our families for this fun filled evening.
Our students tasted foods inspired by Italy yesterday for lunch. We are blessed to have a dedicated staff serving our students in the cafeteria every day!

Today students tasted foods from Japan. We are so excited to see what tomorrow will bring!
Our teachers played a seasonal hide and seek game today titled: Is That a Pumpkin in Your Pocket? The teachers who had the pumpkins at the end of the day received a surprise.
Today's lunch featured foods from Poland. Our lunch staff did an amazing job for our first day of tasting the world during National School Lunch Week.

This week is National School Lunch Week. Try new foods at lunch this week from around the world. Wear clothes from somewhere you have traveled or would like to travel, or colors of your favorite place. So grab your passport and get ready to travel as we taste the world.
Tuesday, our Choir Club will meet at the end of the school day.
We will have our Trunk or Treat this Friday, October 17th, from 5:30 to 7:30. If you would like to donate candy for our event, please send it with your student or drop it off at the front office.

On Monday and Tuesday, our Choir Club will meet at the end of the school day.
On Tuesday and Thursday, our 3rd and 4th-grade students will be taking their NC Check Ins for Math and Reading.
On October 13th, there will be no school for students. This is a teacher workday.
We will be hosting our Trunk or Treat event on October 17th from 5:30 to 7:30.
Attendance Information: We understand that illness can occur. Please make sure your child is fever-free, diarrhea-free, and vomit-free for 24 hours without the use of medication before returning to school. Once a student has reached 10 absences with a parent's handwritten note, it is required that any further absences must come from a doctor to be excused. Please ensure absence notes are turned in within 3 days of the student's return to school.
This weeks students who had perfect weekly attendance! We are so grateful of the work our families put in every day to get their student(s) to school.
It’s that time of year again!! Attached is the flyer for the Salvation Army Christmas assistance for children and our Senior and Disabled adults.
Our lost and found continues to grow. Please ask your children to collect their missing items or come and look for yourself in the morning or afternoon.
